Twin Terms of Service

Last updated: September 17, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Twin. By creating an account, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use Twin.

Twin is an app for college students to meet people nearby and make friends. It is not a dating app.

1. Who can use Twin

---

2. Your account and profile

You agree that everything on your profile is true and about you:

Your gender determines who you can be matched with and cannot be changed once set. Keep access to your email secure — anyone who can receive your sign-in codes can get into your account.

---

3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour

Twin has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content or behaviour that violates this section will be removed and the account responsible will be suspended or permanently banned.

You may not:

Twin is not a dating or hookup app. Using it to pursue romantic or sexual contact is a violation of these terms.

---

4. Your content

What you post stays yours. By posting it, you give Twin permission to store and display it within the app for the purpose of running the service — for example, showing your profile to students you're compatible with.

You're responsible for what you post. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we screen photos and profile text automatically for content that isn't allowed.

---

5. Meeting people in person — please read this

Twin is built to help you meet people face to face. That carries real risk, and you need to understand what Twin does and doesn't do.

Twin does not run background checks. We do not verify anyone's criminal history, intentions or character. Verification confirms only that the person's selfie matches their profile photo — it does not confirm who they are, that they are safe, or that anything else on their profile is true.

You meet people at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety. We strongly recommend that you:

If you're in danger, contact local emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for calling for help.

---

6. Reporting, suspension and removal

Every profile and conversation has a Report button, and blocking someone removes them from your app immediately.

We review reports and act on them. To protect people quickly, an account that is reported may be suspended automatically while the report is reviewed. That means a suspension isn't necessarily a finding that you did something wrong — but it does mean you can't use Twin until it's resolved.

Accounts responsible for sexual content, harassment or threats are permanently removed. A ban survives account deletion — we keep a record of the email address so a banned person can't simply sign up again.

We may suspend or remove any account, at any time, if we believe it's necessary to protect people using Twin.

---

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from My Profile → Delete account. This is permanent and removes your profile, photos, connections and messages, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering Twin.

---

8. Twin is provided as-is

Twin is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that you'll meet anyone.

We are not responsible for the conduct of anyone you meet through Twin, whether online or in person. Interactions between users are between those users.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Twin and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or from anyone you meet through it.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited.

---

9. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app. Continuing to use Twin after a change means you accept the updated terms.
